The Institutes of Formation Fondacio are on the 4 continents. Facing the ever-widening range of possibilities, the uncertain future of the planet, the upheaval of values, young people increasingly need solid training and support to orient themselves properly and make their way.
Aspiring to a meaningful life, many young people seek their way in this complexity. To meet this demand, the Institutes of Formation Fondacio (IFF) have developed highly relevant university formation programs, adapted to the realities of each continent, and with an original and innovative pedagogy.
These formation programs offer students, whether they are Christian or not, the opportunity to define and implement a meaningful professional project in the service of society. They also offer training programs to Christians adapted to their desire to live their faith at the heart of their professional and personal commitments.
The different programs are run according to Fondacio's pedagogy, which involves a dialogue of personal questions, a re-reading of experience, intellectual contributions, internships and places of commitment.
At the end of the 1980s, the Institutes of Formation Fondacio (IFF) was created in France and developed at a continental level (Belgium, Romania) until it became the IFF Europe, whose headquarters are in Angers (France) with an office in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). Gradually, other Fondacio training institutes have emerged on other continents: IFF Asia in Manila (Philippines), IFF Africa in Lomé (Togo), and finally, in 2014, IFF America (Santiago de Chile).
Since its creation, up to 1800 students have attended the courses, which are taught in partnership with local universities and non-governmental organizations working in the field on specific social projects.
In each continent, the institutes offer formative proposals adapted to continental contexts, listening to the social, educational and youth needs in their local context.
• IFF Europe, in Angers (France), a centre associated with the Université Catholique de l'Ouest, offers several half-year or one-year university programs, equivalent to L1, L2 and L3, and a 3-year Bachelor's degree. In Louvain-la-Neuve (in Belgium), two one-semester university programmes are offered, one on the threshold of student life, the other to engage successfully in professional life.
• IFF Africa, Lomé (Togo), offers a 9-month Agricultural Entrepreneurship Program, and short modular training courses in Agricultural Entrepreneurship or Leadership and Project Development.
• IFF Asia, Manille, Philippines, trains change agents for countries in Southeast Asia, with two options, one more ecclesial and the other more oriented towards social development.
• IFF América, Santiago (Chili), Bogotá (Colombie) in partnership with the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia), offers a one-year programme "Protagonist of Social Change for Latin America" and modular programs.
